In fact, numerous studies have looked at the relationship between CBD and pain, and the results are promising. Researchers have looked at various kinds of pain – from joint pain to cancer pain. One finding is that CBD increases levels of glutamate and serotonin – both neurotransmitters that play a role in pain regulation. And CBD’s anti-inflammatory properties help by tackling the root cause of much chronic pain.
THC and CBD work together. CBD organically blocks the potency of THC, which makes the high experienced by the consumer manageable and pleasant. THC works with CBD to amplify its medicinal qualities. Additionally, THC has medicinal qualities of its own that are completely forgone by CBD isolate. Cannabis has more to offer than just cannabinoids; terpenes, the chemical compounds that create the plant’s scent, are also present in cannabis.

Along with its better-known counterpart, THC (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, the chemical that produces the marijuana high), CBD is one of more than 400 compounds found in the oils of cannabis plant species, which include marijuana and hemp. Unlike THC, CBD will not make you high. That said, this doesn’t mean CBD is not at all psychoactive, as many assert, says Jahan Marcu, Ph.D., director of experimental pharmacology and behavior at the International Research Center on Cannabis and Mental Health in New York City: “CBD does change cognition. It affects mood, which is why people take it for anxiety. And some find that it makes them more alert.”

In addition to positively affecting the endocannabinoid system, CBD has been the focus of more than 23,000 published studies about cannabinoids in relation to various medical indications including anxiety, epilepsy, inflammation, cancer and chronic pain to name few. There are different ways to use CBD isolate. A popular way is to use it topically. This entails blending CBD isolate with carrier oils. CBD isolates can also be used to make edibles. For topical application, CBD can be mixed with slightly warm coconut oil to make CBD skin care products that are generously applied to the skin for conditions like acne or arthritis. For CBD edibles, the isolate can be mixed with olive oils. CBD isolate can also be used through dabbing. This entails using special equipment known as a dab rig. This equipment looks like a bong with a bowl part that looks different. A special torch is used to heat the dab rig to a high temperature. The isolate is then put into the rig from where it is inhaled.

I see products labeled CBD oil and other products labeled hemp oil and still others labeled hemp oil extract but haven’t been able to find anyone who can tell me the difference. I do know the difference between full-spectrum CBD oil and isolate and would prefer the synergistic effects of the whole plant. I notice no one answers any of the questions on this page. Hopefully, that will change. Thanks.
My mother has dementia/Alzheimers along with a broken knee that they will not repair do to her mental status. She is currently in a nursing home. I firmly believe her mental situation began with the over use of hydrocodone for over 30 years and was acerbated by the trauma of breaking and disconnecting her knee cap. Since weaning her off of her meds (still in progress) we have regained much of her consciousness. I want to try CBD to help in her recovery or to help slow down the disease. I cannot find a dosage recommendation plus the nursing home/doctor does not recommend it. I would need to give it to her when I am there visiting (about 3 - 4 times per week). Is there a recommended dosage for dementia/Alzheimers?
CBD oil products can be somewhat expensive, which may be a barrier for individuals seeking treatment or relief from different conditions and disorders. cbdMD is a notable exception as far as price-point is concerned. cbdMD offers it’s premium, non-THC oils at a large variety of concentrations (300mg-5,00mg) as well as sizes (30mL and 60mL) . These oils are priced at $28 for 300mg oils and $90 for 1,500mg oils; both price-points are significantly below average.
The H. Hemp Company submits all of its products for laboratory testing by a third party for quality and safety, and its ingredients are sustainably farmed without pesticides. The CBD is infused into the hempseed or MCT oil to allow for slower, longer-lasting absorption through the gastrointestinal tract. All hemp is sourced from sustainable growers in Kentucky and Colorado.
You then take your first drop of CBD oil, wait 45 minutes, then ask the questions again. If you feel no different and there’s no change in the way you answer those questions, you increase the dose by small increments until you do notice a difference. You can continue this process over several days – and at some point, you’ll find that taking more doesn’t change your scores. That is your minimum effective dose.
One of the quickest ways to consume CBD is by dabbing isolate. You will need a glass water pipe (better known as a “bong”), a quartz nail attachment, a dabber to hold the CBD and a butane torch or electronic nail heating element (an e-nail). The initial investment is about $100 to $200, depending on the equipment. E-nails are more expensive, but much safer than using a butane torch for some users.
Scott Shannon, M.D., assistant clinical professor at the University of Colorado, recently sifted through patient charts from his four-doctor practice to document CBD’s effects on anxiety. His study, as yet unpublished, found “a fairly rapid decrease in anxiety scores that appears to persist for months,” he says. But he says he can’t discount a placebo effect, especially since “there’s a lot of hype right now.”
Dispensaries: In states where marijuana is legal for recreational use, dispensaries are a common sight. They are much rarer in states with more restrictions. In states that permit the use of medical marijuana, hemp-based CBD oils do not normally require a prescription but marijuana-based oils do. Like brick-and-mortar locations, dispensaries offer more customer service. However, as noted, this may not be an option depending on the buyer’s state of residence. Also, CBD oil prices tend to be significantly higher at dispensaries.
Given the results of this study, it would seem to confirm that full-spectrum extract is preferable over CBD isolate for most CBD users, but CBD isolate is still frequently used and believed by some to be more effective than full-plant extract. This belief is led by the idea that CBD is the only medically sought after cannabinoid in the cannabis plant, aside from THC. Many CBD isolate users are under the impression that by consuming only the CBD cannabinoid and no terpenes or any other "unnecessary" components of the plant, they are getting a more powerful or effective dose of CBD. When vaping a CBD extract, which as stated previously, is considered to be the most efficient and quick-acting method of administering CBD, isolate users may feel that they are taking the most efficient route to CBD consumption. While this method might be efficient, the lack of entourage effect means the benefits are reduced when compared to full-spectrum CBD consumption.
A number of health benefits of CBD oil have been tested in vitro (i.e., with cells and tissues instead of living beings) as well as via animal studies, and some have even been examined in human clinical studies. However, until a health benefit has been validated by peer-reviewed, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical studies, it's impossible to know for sure if CBD – or any supplement – actually has the purported effect.
CBD isolate also offers a cheaper and higher quality alternative to pre-mixed CBD vape juices and pre-filled vape pens. Users simply need refillable tank style vape, a bottle of vegetable glycerin, a bottle of propylene glycol and vape flavor additives. Commercial vape juice manufacturers add all sorts of sugars and sweeteners to their recipes that end up shortening the lifespan of vape coils and increasing particulate matter exposure.
Most third-party laboratories willing to test hemp/cannabis cannot consistently or reliably detect cannabidiol (CBD) at the levels in this product. Generally speaking, we’ve found that they are more efficient with testing full-spectrum extracts with lower percentages of CBD and other cannabinoids. All Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for our CBD Isolate have so far ranged from 90%-99.9% cannabidiol, but we are extremely confident that every batch of extract has actually been above 99% pure. The extraction process is consistent and repeatable – the third party testing isn’t quite there yet. This is an industry-wide issue that affects every company offering similar products.
I have numerous areas of severe pain in my back, neck, legs, and feet, + have suffered for 25 years from Fibro. I was so impressed with this cream!! It takes so little - not even a full squeeze of cream to cover my entire foot, or my spine, neck, and lower back. The cream does NOT need to be massaged into the painful area - just applied to the surface. Less than five minutes later, whammo! Literally NO PAIN, and it lasted for most of the day. I'm talking hours upon hours of relief!
I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia when I was 15. In the past 21 years I’ve tried narcotics, cortizone shots, lidocaine patches, lyrica, cymbalta, acupuncture, and massage. I put this ointment on my shoulders and neck which have been killing me. Instant relief! It’s been over 5 hours and I took a shower and I still don’t feel pain in my shoulders, which is always there. This is a miracle drug. Thank you!!!!

More important than all the options CBD isolate affords end-users, it allows us to control exactly what goes into or onto our bodies and the quality of all the ingredients used. For example, many CBD topicals include added herbal or botanical ingredients that, while pleasant to smell, can irritate sensitive skin or even exacerbate some conditions. Using an isolate, you can create your own topical with only the ingredients that work for you.
