In the U.S., we live in a culture where more is often perceived as being better.  And it’s easy, without even thinking about it, to apply that approach to CBD dosing. A lighter concentration of CBD but very convenient to use. You can buy the spray or make your own. Spray it directly in your mouth or even just a mist around you. It’s great for relaxing and stress relief. You can also use for pain by spraying directly on your skin. You can easily take it with you so you have it every day. You can spray a bit on your pulse points for times of stress and anxiety.
Winterization is just a fancy science term for cooling down a chemical substance in order to remove impurities. So, in the case of CBD isolate, winterization removes excess waxes, but it also removes the terpenes, trichomes, and flavonoids. There’s a big debate raging around whole-plant cannabis vs. isolates because the chemicals that are removed to produce an isolate can have beneficial effects when taken together.
I think being safe to eat is a moot point. These are topical products. I don’t think anybody is buying to eat them. It’s just a marketing tactic. In regards to the chapsticks, unless you were trying to literally eat the chapstick I think whatever negligible amount may make it past your lips and into your mouth, would certainly not be a health concern from any of these products. What concerns me more is there is zero efficacy with all of these products. Do they just decide over breakfast how much CBD needs to be added for the dosage to work? It’s ridiculous that they are marketing it as safe to eat, and people are buying into that bs and providing no clinical studies or research at all. Just my 2 cents
