It’s a truism to state that pain is an inevitable part of life. And it’s true that we all, from time to time, experience pain that is short-lived and treatable. But those who deal with chronic pain know the debilitating, life-sucking reality of this condition. And traditional medications often come with long lists of side effects which can be as debilitating as the pain itself.
As simple as the extraction and refining processes sound, they’re really not. Certain extraction methods can be done at home, but winterization is a bit more complicated than just storing your cannabis concentrate in the freezer for a few days. If you’re interested in trying CBD isolate for yourself, we highly recommend that purchasing it rather than making it yourself.

When CBD is referred to as full spectrum or whole plant CBD, it means that the CBD contains all other cannabinoids found in the marijuana plant including CBN (Cannabinol), CBG (Cannabigerol), and THCV (Tetrahydrocannabivarin), to name a few. And yes, along with these cannabinoids, Full Spectrum CBD also contains trace amounts of THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol), but in very low concentrations (up to .3%), resulting in very minimal psychoactive stimulation.
A supercritical CO2 extractor passes Carbon Dioxide through CBD Oil and plant material to extract and isolate the Cannabidiol cannabinoid. The process removes all plant matter including the oils, waxes, fatty acids, chlorophyll and more. The result is pure CBD. To activate that CBD, the extraction is decarboxylated, or heated, so that the acidic form of the cannabinoid (CBDa) will convert to the non-acidic form (CBD).
The CBD oil needs to be taken twice a day everyday. The dosage depends on symptoms and it takes 30 days to awken your natural cannabis system after you begin taking the oil. I personally use Hemp works CBD oil in the 750 strength and only need 5 drops sublingual 2 times daily and results are many. Problem with oil and alz.patients is getting them to hold oil under tongue for 60 seconds. We have just began to get my dad on it. He too is in a nursing home in the state of florida and they cannot deny him any medication my mom has requested that he receive. If she is not their they are supposed to administer and she will call them to make sure he gets it. He is not 30 days into dosing yet so I don't have any results to speak of. I do know that since he has started he has had no more bladder infection and has not fallen in 3 weeks. That's a record for him so we will continue to monitor. Best of luck to you and a lot is going to depend on the state your mom is in and what the state laws are concerning her rights or the rights of whom has her medical power of attorney
I have/had ovarian/primary peritoneal cancer. I used thc/cbd oil pills I self made from the start. I am supposedly their “poster child”. I went thru with chemo and surgery. Oh that horror! But when I tried to tell two seperate doctors, the surgeon was all about it, and my oncologist threw a fit and said it was an anecdote. There are more than 100 studies at the NIH govt website.
I suffered from severe eczema as a child and, thankfully, grew out of it for the most part. Eczema is skin with a weak barrier that makes the sufferer’s skin much more open to irritants and allergens, causing a lot of discomfort. This irritation/allergic reaction leads to itching, bacterial infections, over-moisturizing which can lead to yeast overgrowth, etc. Once the chain reaction is set off, it is very difficult to stop. As a child, my parents would come in after I went to sleep, slather my legs with aquaphor and wrap them in ace bandages. It was a sticky mess but somewhat effective. To soothe my dry and easily irritated adult skin (as well as my arthritis), I make a cannabis product wth beeswax, shea butter, coconut oil, and a handful of healing herbs. Beeswax is a great barrier/protectant and has other beneficial properties. The Shea butter is very similar to sebum in our skin so acts to supplement our natural protection.

Cohen has found that chronic conditions including autoimmune diseases and pain syndromes can be helped with a 6-mg under-the-tongue tincture (the fastest delivery system) or a 25-mg capsule taken twice a day. Dosages for topical products like lotions are especially hard to determine—there’s no clarity on how much CBD gets into the system through the skin.

The dosages mentioned do not take into account the strength of the tincture. I have Elixinol 300, I took 1/2 dropper (0.5ml, which offers 5mg of CBD) as indicated on the bottle and felt severely nauseous for 3 hours thereafter. There is no way I cold take this dose twice per day, as recommended on the bottle. The high dosages on this site must surely be for much weaker concentrations?
Scientists have made a lot of progress in understanding how CBD produces its calming, pain-reducing, anti-inflammatory effects in the body—and there’s still more to learn. We know that CBD interacts with many different receptors, proteins, and other chemicals in the brain. These interactions create changes in the activity of neurotransmitters, hormones, and other cells throughout the brain and body. Through these interactions, CBD appears to be able to affect many of the body’s functions, from sleep-wake cycles and emotional regulation to inflammation, pain perception, and seizures.
Let's start with the most officially proven medical use of CBD. Earlier this year, the FDA approved the first-ever drug containing CBD, Epidiolex, to treat two rare forms of pediatric epilepsy. To get to that point, the drug's manufacturers had to do a whole lot of randomized, placebo-controlled trials on humans. They had to study how much children could take, what would happen in case of overdose, and any possible side effects that would occur.

A study analysis in Journal of Pain Research confirms that topical use of certain cannabinoid topicals can reduce pain in animals with inflammation or neuropathic pain. And science has found topical creams with THC and CBD help relieve pain for conditions like multiple sclerosis. But for the vast majority of chronic pain—and most certainly for acute pain like post-workout—the scientific jury is 100 percent still out. "There's a little bit of data in support of CBD for pain relief, but to go from animal to human is a giant leap," Sexton says.
"Cannabinoids have been found to have antioxidant properties, unrelated to NMDA receptor antagonism. This new found property makes cannabinoids useful in the treatment and prophylaxis of wide variety of oxidation associated diseases, such as ischemic, age-related, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. The cannabinoids are found to have particular application as neuroprotectants, for example in limiting neurological damage following ischemic insults, such as stroke and trauma, or in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and HIV dementia.

Oils are hot in the beauty world. As a beauty editor, I’ve slathered everything short of butter onto my face: argan, coconut, rosehip, sandalwood, chia, neroli, calendula, mandarin, macadamia, rice bran, seabuckthorn, patchouli, grapefruit seed, sesame seed, soybean, sweet almond, pomegranate seed, lemon myrtle, sunflower seed—even extra virgin olive oil from my pantry when I was desperate. I’ve washed my face with oil-based cleansers, and dabbed expensive mixtures being sold as “face oils” onto my skin in hopes of achieving that Instagram-ready glow. Contrary to popular belief, the right oil is actually good for your face and won’t clog your pores. Your skin needs a reasonable amount of oil to do its business; as a matter of fact, if you scrub away all your natural face oil (as I was prone to do with rubbing alcohol as a frustrated and misguided pizza-faced teen), you may actually be prone to more breakouts as your skin tries to make up for the imbalance. As cannabis meets up with the mainstream beauty world, cannabidiol (CBD) oil may be the next big thing.

BioCBD+ uses a full spectrum hemp extract.  Most CBD companies are using an isolate version of CBD.  With an isolated, single molecule, one misses out on much of the synergistic heading properties vs. taking in the whole plant. We are only interested in serving whole plant formulations. This is called the “entourage effect”. BioCBD+ does indeed contain all the cannabinoids and terpenes (as nature intended) and is completely legal to order and use no matter where you are.”  ~Ben Greenfield
Ian Jones is a journalist based in Manchester, England. He specialises in technology and food, with a heavy focus on vaping, CBD and medicinal drugs. He began writing professionally over 15 years ago and is a regular contributor to New Scientist, Vice and the Daily Mirror. He is also the resident CBD expert at the respected vaping website Spinfuel. He began looking at CBD in detail after discovering that it cured his mother's arthritis, and has since become a leading figure in the UK when it comes to educating people about the CBD extraction process and exploring its curative properties.
I see products labeled CBD oil and other products labeled hemp oil and still others labeled hemp oil extract but haven’t been able to find anyone who can tell me the difference. I do know the difference between full-spectrum CBD oil and isolate and would prefer the synergistic effects of the whole plant. I notice no one answers any of the questions on this page. Hopefully, that will change. Thanks.
But there’s a big difference between the two. Hemp seed oil has been pressed from hemp seed, and it’s great for a lot of things – it’s good for you, tastes great, and can be used in soap, paint – even as biodiesel fuel. However, hemp seed oil does not contain any concentration of cannabinoids at all, including CBD. So by all means, stock up at your local natural food store. Just don’t expect to reap the benefits of a true CBD oil when you cook with hemp seed oil.

When it comes to CBD oil, cheaper is most certainly not always better because the production of quality CBD oil just isn’t cheap. CO2 extraction utilizes complex equipment and a high level of expertise as opposed to the cheaper and easier chemical extraction processes that can leave residue from toxic solvents like butane, propane, and ethanol in the CBD oil. While the CO2 extraction will generally lead to a higher price tag, it does insure quality, purity, and potency – especially when used to extract CBD oil from hemp that has been organically grown in the United States.

This is precisely why we here at Premium Jane do not advertise “CBD cream for arthritis for sale.” While it may be true that cannabidiol has displayed pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effects in numerous scientific studies, will still maintain the notion that transparency is the most important thing we can offer to our customers. Those companies who blatantly urge you to buy CBD pain cream for arthritis are simply being deceptive, and not taking into consideration the current FDA status of cannabidiol as a medicine.
Cannabinoids are incredibly important because of their effect on the human body.  Endocannabinoid receptors are located throughout our bodies, and when these receptors are stimulated (whether by external cannabinoids or the ones already present within us), they work to maintain homeostasis.  These receptors comprise what is known as the endocannabinoid system.
